Netherlands Flag

The flag of the Netherlands consists of three horizontal stripes of red on the top, white in the middle, and blue at the bottom. This simple tricolor design dates back to the late 16th century during the Dutch struggle for independence from Spanish rule, originally featuring an orange stripe that later changed to red for better visibility at sea. The colors have various interpretations, but traditionally, red symbolizes bravery and strength, white stands for peace and honesty, and blue represents loyalty and justice. Officially adopted in its current form in 1937, the Dutch flag is one of the oldest tricolor flags in the world and remains a strong emblem of Dutch national identity and history.
