Norway Flag

The flag of Norway features a red field with a blue cross outlined in white that extends to the edges of the flag. This design is known as a Nordic or Scandinavian cross, which is common among the flags of Nordic countries and symbolizes Christianity. The red, white, and blue colors were chosen to reflect Norway’s historical and cultural ties to both Denmark and Sweden, as well as the ideals of liberty and independence inspired by other Western democracies. The current flag was officially adopted in 1821 and represents Norway’s national identity, heritage, and pride as a sovereign nation in Northern Europe.
