Argentina Flag
€10,00
The national flag of Argentina is a symbol of the country's identity, history, and independence. It consists of three horizontal bands: the top and bottom bands are light blue, and the middle band is white. At the center of the white band is a golden sun, known as the "Sun of May" (Sol de Mayo), which features a face and 32 alternating straight and wavy rays. The flag was first raised during Argentina's struggle for independence from Spanish rule in the early 19th century and was officially adopted as the national flag on July 20, 1816. The blue and white colors are believed to represent the sky and clouds, or possibly the Virgin Mary, while the sun symbolizes the birth of a new nation and freedom.
