Iraq Flag

€10,00

The flag of Iraq consists of three horizontal stripes in red, white, and black, with green Arabic script in the center. These colors—red, white, black, and green—are known as the Pan-Arab colors and symbolize Arab unity and identity. The current version of the flag, adopted in 2008, features the phrase "Allahu Akbar" (الله أكبر), meaning "God is the Greatest," written in green Kufic script across the white stripe. This phrase reflects the country's Islamic heritage. Historically, previous versions of the flag included three green stars representing either the Ba'ath Party’s motto—unity, freedom, socialism—or the proposed union of Iraq, Egypt, and Syria. Over time, the flag has evolved to reflect Iraq's shifting political landscape. Today, the red stands for courage and the struggles of the Iraqi people, the white symbolizes peace and generosity, and the black represents past oppression that the nation has overcome. The flag is a powerful symbol of Iraq's national identity, cultural heritage, and resilience.
